THE RESTRAURANT

Haz is a modern Mediterranean restaurant, built on the vast experience and passion of our three Turkish founders. Taking great inspiration from our heritage and ancient Turkish cooking techniques, we bring traditional Turkish food to Central London tables.

With a refined yet authentic menu and using fresh local, seasonal ingredients, our aim is to celebrate Mediterranean flavours and provide Londoners with a true taste of our home land.

THE FOUNDERS

The HAZ family is led by Zafer, Haci and Ahmet who first opened their doors to the intrigued public in 1991. Far from home and unable to find traditional and authentic Turkish food in London, the partners set out to be the first true Turkish restaurant in the City.

Drawing on experience in hospitality and head chef Haci’s culinary delights, it wasn’t long before our restaurant started to fill day and night. We’ve since opened the doors to four more restaurants in Central London and have big plans to continue spreading our wings.

Pleasure is in everything we do; from warm, traditional Turkish hospitality, deliciously fresh ingredients and the elegant yet comfortable setting in which to enjoy our food. It’s our pleasure to provide the City with an authentic experience and it’s our pleasure to spend our days doing jobs we genuinely enjoy.

Pleasure is also quite literally at the heart of us. The name, HAZ, combines the initials of our three founders, and coincidentally, translates to ‘pleasure’ in our native tongue.

THE MENU

In traditional Turkish fashion, we love a family meal. We encourage guests to select dishes that compliment and contrast the many flavours of the Med. With a wide selection of perfectly grilled meats, mezze, salads and rice dishes, our menu can be tailored to share or be enjoyed individually.

Grilling is a specialty of ours; it’s an art form that we’ve perfected over many years and our chefs continue to use ancient techniques to create the perfect combination of texture and flavour.

With a revised and contemporary drinks menu, we also want to encourage guests to experience the true essence of Turkey even when they’re not hungry. Our cocktails have been carefully concocted in conjunction with our menu, with complimentary and contrasting flavours such as pomegranate and lime, and beetroot and mint. Our carefully selected wine list includes many Turkish favourites, with a variety of whites, reds and sparking wine from all around the world.
